Charlotte Flair is arguably the most complete female pro-wrestler today and will certainly go down in history as one of the greatest. Charlotte is integral to the upsurge in women’s wrestling and undoubtedly the face of the historic moments that have been bestowed upon the division. Let us take a look at some of the moments where she shocked the WWE fans and her opponents:
Trish Stratus – Summerslam 2019
Trish Stratus faced off Charlotte at WWE Summerslam in her hometown of Toronto. This was where Trish had started her WWE journey decades ago and where it ended in 2006. In what was called the most decorated women’s match of all time, the fight saw both women live up to their accolades. Trish Stratus received an overwhelming reaction from her hometown crowd and was expected to win. However, Charlotte eventually made her tap out to her figure eight proving herself to be the Queen of all eras.
Ronda Rousey – Survivor Series 2018
Remember Ronda Rousey - ace MMA fighter turned wrestler? Charlotte went face to face with Ronda at WWE Survivor Series in 2018. The Queen not only managed to avoid her Armbar throughout the match, but she came really close to beating Ronda with a Figure-Eight. The match ended in a disqualification as Charlotte attacked her with a kendo stick. She busted her open with a massive elbow to the face. The disqualification was only the beginning of the post-match brutality that Charlotte had to bring Ronda that night. Nevertheless, the two athletes treated the fans at Staples Center to a Wrestlemania-worthy main event which had the fans at the edge of their seats throughout the encounter.
Asuka – Smackdown Live
Charlotte shocked Asuka and the fans when she put an end to her WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship title reign days before Wrestlemania and went on to main-event with the gold around her waist. Asuka had won the championship by defeating Charlotte and Becky Lynch in a triple threat ladder match with some outside interference from Ronda.
Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch – Wrestlemania 32
Charlotte has had an on-again-off-again slow burner of a rivalry with these two ever since they were bought onto the main roster. The trio headlined WWE Wrestlemania 32 which saw Charlotte come out victorious overcoming one of her biggest challenges, as she defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat match to win the first-ever WWE Women's Championship match.
Nikki Bella – Night of Champions 2015
Charlotte ended Nikki Bella's record-breaking 301-day reign as WWE Divas champion at the Night of Champions PPV by making her tap out. It was a historic moment in her career and was joined by her father Ric Flair and her best friends Becky Lynch and Paige.
