From Titan to Turmoil, Kingpin Vince McMahon's Documentary Series Officially Gets a Premiere Date

One of the wrestling industry's biggest names, Vince McMahon, is getting a documentary series, and it has been anticipated for a long time. The documentary series is expected to dive into the aspects which would showcase the true side of the former WWE Chairperson and owner, who was also a prominent on-screen character.

Vince McMahon to Showcase Former WWE Chairperson's Rise and Fall of the Empire

The much-anticipated documentary of former WWE chairman and wrestling icon Vince McMahon has officially received a premiere date. Netflix took to social media to release a poster for the former WWE Kingpin, who led the iconic wrestling promotion for several years. Bill Simmons and Chris Smith, the executive producer of 'Tiger King' have developed the project which dives into the journey of the controversial king, who went from being a titan of the wrestling industry to being engaged in messy turmoil, leading to his exit from the company he nourished like a child.

“The goal behind ‘Mr. McMahon’ was to pull back the curtain and reveal the true Vince McMahon, obscured beneath the persona he presented to the world. Over the four years of production, the story evolved in truly shocking ways, culminating in some extremely harrowing allegations. The final product is a revealing documentary that we believe offers a rich and nuanced portrait of the man and the complex legacy he left behind,” The documentary series' director & producer Chris Smith said in a statement, per Variety.

As per the docuseries' summary, the documentary series features interviews with several of his family members, renowned professional wrestlers and the reports who broke out the sexual harassment allegations against him before he resigned from the company. However, reports suggest that the makers of the documentary series did not approach former WWE staffer Janel Grant and her representatives, who have levelled dreadful allegations against Mr. McMahon.

Vince McMahon exited the WWE back in 2022 after the allegations of the hush money scandal came to light, and an internal investigation was under process. He returned to the Connecticut-based company for WWE's sale to Endeavor in 2023 but soon left after the heinous allegations by Janel Grant.

Mr. McMahon, the documentary series, will be divided into six episodes, and it will be aired live on Netflix on September 25, 2024.
