Stone Cold Steve Austin reminisces the time when Undertaker crucified him: “Good times”

Just a few days after Undertaker said his final farewell to WWE Universe at Survivor Series 2020, Stone Cold Steve Austin took to Twitter and reminisced controversial storyline two were involved in. Rattlesnake retweeted a picture from December 2, 1998, episode of WWE RAW where Undertaker crucified him after main-event tag-team match. Though promotion got a lot of heat for mocking a religious symbol and want it stands for, Stone Cold Steve Austin calls it “anor day at office”.

Undertaker crucifies Steve Austin: controversial build-up

Stone Cold Steve Austin and Undertaker have feuded multiple time in past, but ir most controversial feud came in 1998 when Phenom returned as leer of ‘Ministry of Darkness’. two feuded over WWE Championship (n WWF Championship) for months, which also featured icons like Mankind, Rock, Paul Bearer and Kane. This led to a Buried Alive match between two at Rock Bottom 1998, but a week before that, Stone Cold Steve Austin teamed up with Mankind to take on Undertaker and Rock in a tag-team match.

Undertaker crucifies Steve Austin after losing via DQ

Mankind went after Undertaker before bell but was stopped by Rock and got punished inste. Stone Cold Steve Austin came in for save, but a brawl started on ramp. After commercial break, starting bell rang and Phenom took over, chokeslamming Mankind.

One of faces of Foley tried to fight back with a swinging neckbreaker, but Rock came in to break pin. Steve Austin n attacked Rock, leing to Mankind delivering a spinebuster, followed by Corporate Elbow for two. Austin n tried to hit Undertaker with a stunner for win, but Undertaker’s disciples Big Bossman and Ken Shamrock came in and attacked babyfaces, ending match in disqualification.

After bout, Bossman handcuffs Mankind to top rope while Undertaker punished Austin. He n carried Rattlesnake to ramp and tied him to a huge cross, which looked almost similar to Phenom’s symbol. Stone Cold Steve Austin, however, took his revenge at Rock Bottom 1998 PPV, where he defeated Undertaker in a Buried Alive match.
