John Cena and Edge faced each or in a high-volt contest at WWE Backlash 2009 with WWE championship on line. majority of fanbase was rooting for John Cena as he was billed as favourite in fight, but Edge proved to be a tough competitor as soon as fight began. John Cena and Edge unleashed a dog fight inside WWE ring, before taking it between audiences.

entire arena was left stunned as John Cena and Edge continued to brawl outside ring at WWE Backlash 2009 before Big Show showed up and changed  momentum of fight. While John Cena almost delivered an Attitude Adjustment on Edge, Big Show turned up and rescued Rated-R Superstar. Big Show furr lifted John Cena and slammed him into a spotlight. John Cena broke through glass and was left unconscious, as Edge was awarded victory and WWE Championship at WWE Backlash 2009.
