Donald Trump is all set to reclaim the office and run the United States as the new President-elect of the United States. Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris and is now next in line to become the POTUS after Joe Biden's tenure ends. As Donald Trump elects his picks for the cabinet, he has selected one of his close confidants Linda McMahon as the US Education Secretary. She has had a close association with the WWE in the past. Let's take a closer look at who is Linda McMahon and how she is associated with the hottest wrestling promotions in the world.
Who Is Linda McMahon? Vince McMahon's Wife Who Left The WWE To Pursue A Political Career
The term McMahon could directly associate a person with the WWE, and Linda is no stranger to the promotion either. Linda McMahon, who was born as Linda Marie Edwards in North Carolina. She is the wife of former WWE kingpin Vince McMahon, who built the WWE into what it is today. Linda dated McMahon when both of them were in high school and eventually married him in 1966, right after she graduated high school. She was the WWE President in 1993 and was then promoted to CEO in 1997. apart from being an on-screen character, she was also associated in bringing up the company's first line of action figures and helping the product cater to the young audience. Linda stepped down as WWE's CEO in 2009 to pursue a political career.
Linda McMahon ran for the United States Senate twice in Connecticut, losing to Richard Blumenthal in 2010 and Chris Murphy in 2012. Shifting gears, she concentrated on providing financial assistance to candidates. McMahon contributed $6 million to Trump's campaign after he won the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
A month after defeating Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump appointed Linda McMahon to lead the Small Business Administration. The agency provides loans and disaster relief to businesses and entrepreneurs and oversees government officials' compliance with contract laws. Blumenthal and Murphy, the two Connecticut Democrats who defeated McMahon in Senate races, praised her when she was chosen. McMahon, unlike other members of Trump's first administration, was not embroiled in scandal or controversy. She frequently endorsed his trade and tax policies.

Even after Trump lost to Joe Biden in the preceding elections, Linda did not leave his shadow. She chaired America First Action, a super PAC that supported Trump's 2020 reelection campaign. He lost to Democrat Joe Biden, but McMahon helped establish the America First Policy Institute to continue advocating for Trump's agenda and prepare for a possible return to the White House.
Linda McMahon's biggest task after Trump takes office may be to eliminate the agency she was hired to oversee. Trump has promised to close the Education Department and delegate much of its authority to the states. Trump has not explained how he intends to close the agency, which was established by Congress in 1979 and will most likely require congressional action to dismantle.
