Great company, bad fit
In June of 2019, Bischoff was announced as the Executive Director of WWE SmackDown but was replaced in October by Bruce Prichard. As Executive Director, Bischoff had to directly report to Vince McMahon. When talking about his short run with the company, Bischoff made sure that it became clear that there was no bad blood between WWE and him.

Bischoff acknowledged his gratefulness towards being able to work with WWE again and mentioned how there was nothing really wrong with anyone during his brief tenure at the company. He added that his creative style and attitude towards work vastly differed from WWE's business model and style of work. Therefore, the two parties could not be optimally compatible. Bischoff expressed his well-wishes for the WWE as it goes forward. He mentioned how him and Vince McMahon had a "great talk" a few days ago and "everything is cool."

Going ahead, Opportunities and Personalities need to match
Bischoff mentioned how he knew that he was expected to say bad things about the WWE after his exit but did not really have anything to say except the fact that the company's needs and his personality did not match too much. Bischoff also added how he loves being challenged and likes to experiment, something that he was able to do in his time at the WCW. Under Eric Bischoff, the WCW became a massive hit in the late 90s and gave direct competition to WWE Raw, starting the Monday Night Wars.
