Rob Van Dam's Scathing Attack On WWE Moghul
“When WWE brought ECW back, several times there could have been taken as evidence that they were just bringing it back to destroy it. I mean Vince [McMahon] was wearing the belt, and they changed all the OG’s with The New Breed… To me, they were making a statement there, and I know Vince didn’t like it when the fans would chant ECW during his shows when some of us [that] are represented were in the ring.” says the Hall Of Famer.
Rob Van Dam has been one of the unsung wrestlers from the late '90s to the mid-2000s and he doesn't have trash trash-talking kind of mentality rather he expresses his opinion seldom. Vince McMahon took WWE from a regional pro wrestling promotion to a Sports Entertainment Powerhouse with massive reach globally. This journey was not supposed to continue without controversy, scandals, allegations, rumours, and speculation which is being continued today. Rob Van Dam as a Hall Of Famer puts his remarks from his experience during his prime in the business.
The Rise And Fall Of ECW
Extreme Championship Wrestling was introduced in 1994 by Paul Heyman. The iconic promotion was folded in 2001 but again was revived in the same year as a WWE brand. Vince McMahon purchased the ECW assets in 2003 and in 2005 began introducing the hardcore organization through content, merchandise, documents, and pay-par views. ECW operated as a full brand from May 2006 to Feb 2010, featuring the weekly ECW on a Sci-Fi show.
