WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam Accuses Former CEO Vince McMahon To Destroy ECW

During a recent appearance, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam, better known by his ring name RVD, talked about Vince McMahon reviving ECW under WWE's umbrella in the 2000 era. RVD while speaking on the entire WWE and ECW saga revealed how he witnessed McMahon's decision to bring back ECW to destroy it. RVD not only spoke about Vince McMahon but he rather he accused McMahon and called out his ways of destroying competition.

When WWE brought ECW back, several times there could have been taken as evidence that they were just bringing it back to destroy it. I mean Vince [McMahon] was wearing the belt, and they changed all the OG’s with The New Breed… To me, they were making a statement there, and I know Vince didn’t like it when the fans would chant ECW during his shows when some of us [that] are represented were in the ring.” says the Hall Of Famer.

Rob Van Dam has been one of the unsung wrestlers from the late '90s to the mid-2000s and he doesn't have trash trash-talking kind of mentality rather he expresses his opinion seldom. Vince McMahon took WWE from a regional pro wrestling promotion to a Sports Entertainment Powerhouse with massive reach globally. This journey was not supposed to continue without controversy, scandals, allegations, rumours, and speculation which is being continued today. The Rise And Fall Of ECW

Extreme Championship Wrestling was introduced in 1994 by Paul Heyman. The iconic promotion was folded in 2001 but again was revived in the same year as a WWE brand. Vince McMahon purchased the ECW assets in 2003 and in 2005 began introducing the hardcore organization through content, merchandise, documents, and pay-par views. ECW operated as a full brand from May 2006 to Feb 2010, featuring the weekly ECW on a Sci-Fi show.
