WWE 2K20: After massive global hack, game makers apologise for racist posts
The official page of WWE 2K20 faced a lot of problems when their social media handles got compromised with racist posts

WWE 2K20 has not had a good run with the latest instalment of the WWE gaming series. A lot of users slammed the video game for having numerous glitches. The 2K series found themselves in new trouble when their social media accounts got hacked. Not only that, their official pages were used to disseminate racist posts and that caused a widespread backlash from fans. However, things were kept under control when the California-based gaming company regained their profiles and apologised for the misconduct that took place from their social media handles.

WWE 2K20: Official Page of 2K gets hacked
A lot of popular video-game companies faced cyber-attacks recently. Lizard Squad, the infamous England-based hacking community, took responsibility for the attacks on both Call of Duty and Fornite, along with threatening UK’s Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn. The 2K series shared a similar fate when an unknown hacking community chose to exploit their official Facebook page. On November 15, the company’s main Facebook page was compromised by hackers, as they began posting racist messages and posts. The Facebook page for WWE 2K game faced similar woes as their official handle was also hacked and racist messages were posted on it. Things didn’t stop there, the hackers further replaced WWE 2K’s cover picture with AEW logo and a lot of fans assumed the mischief that was taking place.

WWE:2K apologises to its fans
The racial messages remained up on the official page of well-known video game company for hours until 2K regained the access to their accounts and deleted the posts. After regaining back their official handles, the 2K label posted an apology which said, “Social media accounts across the 2K label were compromised early Friday evening. Unfortunately, offensive material was posted that does not reflect the values of 2K or our partners.”
