Wrestler Oney Lorcan has reportedly asked for his release from the WWE. Lorcan currently is a part of the NXT and 205 Live shows and has been a part of WWE since 2015. The 33-year-old has changed his Twitter username to his old ring name 'Biff Busick.'

Release not granted yet

The WWE superstar has reportedly asked for a release from the company but his request has not been agreed to, yet. In his four years with WWE, Lorcan has not held any championships in the promotion. In an action which could confirm Lorcan's release request, the superstar changed his Twitter username to 'Biff Busick.' Christopher Girard, who wrestles as 'Oney Lorcan' in the WWE, has used the name Biff Busick during his time at Combat Zone Wrestling, Chaotic Wrestling, and other independent promotions he wrestled for before his time at the WWE. Lorcan has also posted some cryptic photos on his Twitter that read "Biff Rules."

WWE not keen on releasing superstars

Lorcan's request for a release from the promotion is not the first that WWE has received in recent times. Other superstars like Luke Harper and Sin Cara have also asked for a release from the WWE. Sin Cara explained on social media that he did not feel appreciated at the WWE and this was the reason behind the masked wrestler wanting to part ways from the company. He also added how he has behaved as a team-player at the WWE and has worked gruelling schedules, only to be underappreciated by the company.

WWE has not been granting releases to these wrestlers because of the company not wanting rival promotions to profit off these superstars. The All-Elite Wrestling (AEW) promotion has been giving the WWE a run for its money with a fresh attitude and content. The core of AEW is made up of WWE veterans like Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, and Jon Moxley (who wrestled in WWE as 'Dean Ambrose').
