Amazon pledges to invest $2 billion in projects aimed at combatting climate change

Amazon has pledged to invest $2 billion on June 23 to support development of technologies that are sustainable and to help other firms battle climate crisis.

Amazon has pledged to invest $2 billion on June 23 to support development of techlogies that are t only sustainable but will also enable American multinational techlogy company along with or firms to combat climate crisis. Calling it ‘ Climate Pledge Fund’, this move will encour or companies to contribute to commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040 and ensure facilitation. Climate Pledge was an initiative co-funded by Amazon and Global Optimism as a commitment to reach Paris Agreement ten years early along with attaining a net-zero carbon in next 20 years.

statement re, “Amazon today anunced Climate Pledge Fund to support development of sustainable techlogies and services that will enable Amazon and or companies to meet Climate Pledge—a commitment to be net zero carbon by 2040."

"This dedicated venture investment program—with an initial $2 billion in funding—will back visionary companies whose products and services will facilitate transition to a zero carbon ecomy,” it ded.

'All companies will be considered'

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has said that fund will help investors and ‘visionary entrepreneurs’ to reduce ir carbon impact and shift ir operations to more sustainable methods. He also ensured that all companies irrespective of ir magnitude, across globe, will be considered under Climate Pledge Fund. investments will be judged by its potential to speed up path to attaining zero carbon and protect environment.

“ Climate Pledge Fund will look to invest in visionary entrepreneurs and invators who are building products and services to help companies reduce ir carbon impact and operate more sustainably,” said Jeff Bezos.

“Companies from around world of all sizes and sts will be considered, from pre-product startups to well-established enterprises. Each prospective investment will be judged on its potential to accelerate path to zero carbon and help protect planet for future generations,” he ded.
