iOS 18 update: Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 series models last night. In addition to showcasing the new iPhone models, the company revealed the date when all old eligible iPhone models will get the iOS 18 update. The iPhone 16 series will come with iOS 18 installed, which means buyers won't have to worry about downloading the update as soon as they upgrade their smartphones. On the other hand, users who own an older iPhone model will be able to download iOS 18 starting September 16.

iOS 18 update will bring a slew of new features to the iPhones. In addition to bringing RCS support to the Messages app, iOS 18 update will also bring an updated Control Centre, AI-powered features in the Photos app, ability to schedule messages in the Messages app, support for a new Game Mode and a new Passwords app to all the supported iPhone models.

iOS 18 to bring Apple Intelligence to iPhones

It is worth noting that iOS 18 update will also bring Apple Intelligence to iPhones. Supported iPhone models include the iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16, the iPhone 16 Plus, the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

However, the Apple Intelligence will not be available on the supported iPhone models at the time of iOS 18 rollout. Apple has said that the first set of Apple Intelligence features will be available in US English in beta next month as part of iOS 18.1 update. Apple Intelligence will be available in the US in October and in Australia, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom and New Zealand in December this year.
