11-year-old asks to ban PUBG game after PM Modi's 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'

According to reports, an 11-year-old kid in Maharashtra has written a letter to the chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis, asking the state government to impose a ban on PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game.

In his letter, Ahad has made an "appeal" to impose a ban on PUBG as "it promotes immoral conduct such as violence, murder, aggression, looting, gaming addiction and cyberbullying."

"I will be compelled to seek appropriate legal [civil and criminal] proceeding as per law; naturally at your cost and consequences," said Ahad.

Ahad's letter was marked to seven people including Devendra Fadnavis (Chief Minister of Maharashtra), Ravi Shankar Prasad (Law & Justice, Information Technology Minister of India) and Vinod Tawde (Education Minister of Maharastra.

It comes right after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 where the game PUBG and its impact on academics was discussed.

Last week, the Gujarat government issued a circular asking district authority to ensure a ban on PUBG. The state primary education department's circular was issued after a recommendation by the Gujarat State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, said officials.

In related news, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has asked Governor Satya Pal Naik to impose a ban on PUBG citing the game's addictive traits resulting in poor results of the recent class X and XII board examinations as the reasons.
