According to reports, Amazon India has a capital of Rs 3500 crores reserved for its online food delivery business. This capital will reportedly be used for coupons and discounts. The aim here could be to disrupt the business and gain maximum market share in the online food delivery segment. Amazon India has its existing workforce of delivery partners and chances are Amazon would put its existing workforce of delivery partners to use in order to speed up the delivery process. Report has it, Amazon is to charge restaurant partners as much as 25 per cent on commission on orders. Meanwhile, Swiggy, Uber Eats and Zomato reportedly charge an average of 20 per cent commission to restaurants for each order.
