Dark mode hits Google Chrome Canary for Windows; here's how to enable it today
After Google Chrome for macOS is confirmed to receive a dark mode update sometime this year, Google is also preparing to release a similar feature on Chrome for Windows 10. Apple enabled system-wide dark mode with macOS 10.14 Mojave.

Following in footsteps of Apple, Microsoft also enabled system-wide dark mode with Windows 10 October 2018 update turning it on for apps like Office. w, it’s time for Google to provide Chrome for Windows 10 users with a similar update putting it on par with Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox.

Testers can try out a new dark mode in Chrome Canary starting today. A bug report reveals Google Chrome for Windows 10 has been working on embracing dark mode since at least May 2017.

According to comments found in Chromium’s Gerrit source code manment, Microsoft’s Windows 10 was supported to receive dark mode update alongside macOS, according to reports. However, developers reportedly h to pause progress due to certain flaws.
Google Chrome Canary’s feature is available for Windows including older versions such as Windows 7.

dark mode can be enabled by navigating to Chrome Canary shortcut > Properties > d “ –force-dark-mode.” Since feature is currently in testing, we don’t kw for sure when it will go live for all Google Chrome for Windows 10 users.

How to enable dark mode in Google Chrome Canary for Windows
Step 1: Downlo and install Google Chrome Canary on your Windows 10 or older.
Step 2: Right- on its desktop shortcut > Select properties.

Step 3: Enter “ –force-dark-mode” (without quotes) in target field after chrome.exe.
Step 4: Simply option ‘Apply’ to save changes.
Step 5: Run Chrome Canary. You should see UI in a dark mode.
