Facebook now wants to compete with the new internet sensation Musical.ly TikTok

Muscly.ly TikTok app gets a new competitor in the form of Facebook's Lasso. Lasso is available to download for both Android and iOS users via Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively.

Social networking giant Facebook is all set to compete with 2018’s breakthrough app Musicl.ly TikTok. Facebook discreetly anunced a new app called ‘Lasso’ with kind of similar features. Lasso is available to downlo for both Android and iOS users via Google Play Store and Apple App Store respectively. Similar to TikTok, Facebook's Lasso lets users create short videos blessed with filters and effects. y can furr share se videos over Facebook’s story feature. Urging users to create viral videos related to trending topics and hashtags, app wants users to give ir own, unique spin by recording yourself. Users can n d special effects, filters, music, text on video and share it publicly. As per Verge’s report, users can soon d ir videos directly over Instagram stories.

Lasso claims to feature several built-in camera tools and effects, in dition to a "massive" music library. app p on Google Play Store also talks about letting users participate in challenges in order to boost ir viewership. From its description, app resembles Musical.ly TikTok to a great extent. It too has a vast music library to let users create ir own music videos using filters and effects.

For past few months, Facebook is trying hard to win over teenrs who are apparently losing interest in Facebook and spending most of ir time using apps like Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok etc. In fact, a previous PewResearch study found out that a shocking number of teenrs have abandoned Facebook in favour of or social media platforms. In a somewhat desperate move to win back interest of youngsters, Facebook even went on to release a dating app earlier this year to compete with some of established players such as Tinder, OkCupid, Match.com etc.
