Google Play awards: Call of Duty receives 'Best Game' nomination, PUBG nowhere to be seen

Call of Duty Mobile is nominated for Google Play's Users' Choice Game awards this year. However, PUBG Mobile has received no nomination in the gaming category.

Google Play has announced nominees for this year's Users' Choice Awards across four categories - Apps, Games, Movies and Books. The voting ends on November 25. So you better hurry up to vote your favourite app, game, book or a movie. Final results will be announced on December 3.

In what could be bad news for PUBG Mobile fans, the online battle royale game has received no nomination for this year's Google Play Users' Choice Award in the gaming category. Meanwhile, Call of Duty Mobile is nominated for Google Play's Users' Choice Game awards this year.

To recall, PUBG Mobile had won the Google Play Best Game award last year.

Call of Duty the most downloaded smartphone game

As per the Sensor Tower data, Call of Duty was the most downloaded smartphone game across both App Store and Google Play worldwide in October. It saw a whopping 14.6 crore installs across the platforms last month. The countries generating the maximum installs were the United States at 16 per cent and India at 11 per cent.

Last month, Activision, in collaboration with Tencent released Call of Duty Mobile. Sensor Tower previously stated Call of Duty Mobile created history with the highest number of downloads than any other mobile game ever. Balck then, Call of Duty was installed on more than 100 million devices.

Apart from multiplayer deathmatch, domination, frontier, practice vs AI modes, Call of Duty's Battle Royale (BR) mode allows up to 100 players fight for survival in a map designed for the mobile title, featuring locations from across Call of Duty franchise in solos, duos or four-person teams.
