Hans Christian Gram’s doodle on Google today is yet ar example of internet giant’s focus on bringing to light lesser-kwn global scientific minds and talents. Gram was a bacteriologist from Denmark. With this doodle, Gram is back to memories of budding scientists and science students across world. Gram was born almost 166 years ago and today marks his birth anniversary. Gram even analysed Red Blood Cells (RBC) in humans during early part of his biological career. Doodling Gram’s contributions are an effective way of retaining scientist’s memories. This is because certain acemic syllabi in India do mention about gram strain – a wide category of science students are in kw-how of about gram strain but tend to forget Hans Christian Gram. Hence, a doodle always evokes mind behind a discovery. With Gram Strain being a standard practice today, it makes for an interesting aspect to explore more details about micro-organisms.
