Instagram introduces 'pinned comments' feature to manage the tone of conversation

Instagram’s VP of Product Vishal Shah recently took to Twitter to inform that social media platform launched new ‘pinned comments’ feature everywhere. In post, Shah informed that Facebook-owned photo-sharing app will w help users to pin on top important or favourite comments on ir posts. He even shared a picture demonstrating same.

As per reports, Instagram started testing pinned comments back in May alongside its comment filtering tools. new feature was anunced to help limit harassment and bullying that goes on on several social media platforms. new feature allows a user to pin up to three comments to top of post at a time. pinned comments will appear right underneath photo with a ‘Pinned’ label underneath. 

To access feature, Instagram user first has to make sure that y have updated app to latest version. One can tap on any post on account and head to comments section. user can find any specific comment to pin and by just swiping to left and tapping on thumbtack icon, one can pin comment. If a user pins more than three comments, app also sends a tification to remind that you have reached limit already.

‘Bulk deleting’ feature  

Along with new ‘pinned comments’, photo-sharing app also rolled out a feature for user to bulk delete comments. Furr, app will w also let users choose who can tag and mention one on a specific post. To enable 'bulk deleting comments’ feature on iOS, one can tap on a comment after which a dotted icon in right corner will appear. user n has to select ‘Man Comments’ through which y can choose up to 25 comments to delete at once. user also has option to block or restrict accounts in bulk.
