It's Official, Google to put an end to Allo: Here's how you can backup your messages right now!

Google Allo will join the list of Google’s failed efforts in relation to its messaging and social media forte, after Orkut, Google+ and Google Wave. In fact, Google could also be on the verge to shut down Hangouts (though they have categorically denied citing their plans to keep the scenarios intact), they have kind of confirmed the eventual demise of Hangouts classic once all their users upgrade to Hangouts Chat and Meet.
Google has confirmed that Google Allo will be killed in March 2019. Before that happens, one can export all their existing conversations. Commenting on the move, Matt Klainer, VP of Google’s consumer communications product, had to say:

“Allo will continue to work through March 2019 and until then, you’ll be able to export all of your existing conversation history from the app—here are instructions on how to do so. We've learned a lot from Allo, particularly what’s possible when you incorporate machine learning features, like the Google Assistant, into messaging.”

How to backup Google Allo
Below, we show you how you save your Allo messages and back them up. Google you can restore the information on a new phone using the same phone number. Google Allo backup can be saved locally or to your Google Drive storage once you connect your Google account.
Step 1: Open Allo app and tap the hamburger menu. Then tap Settings > Chat < Chat backup. You need to turn on Device backup.

Step 2: You can choose Google Drive to backup your Allo conversations. Tap the option Back up now.

Step 3: In case you want to restore you Allo messages onto a new phone, install Allo and complete the initial verification process. Login to your Google account > Tap Restore.
Step 4: To download your chats and media, open Allo > Tap the hamburger menu > Settings > Chat. You can select from either “Export messages from chats” or “Export stored media from chats”.
Step 5: You can save messages in either a CSV file or Zip file.
