JioMusic ends free subscription: JioSaavn update imminent, to bring a design overhaul and new features

Jio will soon end a free subscription for its JioMusic streaming service. This comes as a result of JioMusic’s transition into JioSaavn, which is imminent. In a series of tweets, folks over at Saavn have dropped quite a few hints as to what lies in the future of JioMusic and Saavn. In one of their tweets, Saavn confirmed that JioSaavn update is around the corner.

Saavn also confirmed that this is going to be a major update. We can expect JioMusic to become JioSaavn pretty soon. More information is awaited to as to what will happen to the existing Saavn app. Both JioMusic and Saavn apps are currently listed under the moniker of Saavn Media Pvt. Ltd.

JioSaavn update will also bring a massive design overhaul and many new features. While responding to a user query, Saavn confirmed that the upcoming JioSaavn app will be free to stream with ads. However, all Jio customers will benefit from a 90-day free trial of JioSaavn Pro features.

Once free JioSaavn subscription ends, customers can continue streaming music for free but they will have to bear in-app advertisements. JioSaavn subscription will come in handy in case users are looking for ad-free streaming experience or download music for offline access.

How to avail free JioSaavn subscription for 3 months

Once JioSaavn update rolls out, all you need to do is login to the app using your Jio number. Make sure that you are using Jio data to login to the app. You should be able to see a 90-day complimentary subscription. Saavn currently lets users login using either Facebook login or mobile number.

Going forward, JioSaavn may only include a single option to login using your mobile number. We are expecting more clarity on this transition and we’ll let you know as soon as it happens. Stay tuned!
