Dating app Tinder is rolling out a new feature called 'Travel Alert.' This feature is designed specifically for LGBTQ users in countries where laws effectively criminalise LGBTQ status. Last year, Supreme Cout of India declared Section 377 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) unconstitutional, prohibiting discrimination based on identity and sexual orientation in country.

"It’s secret that we believe everyone has right to live how y want to live and love who y want to love. And while re are still efforts to protect our freedoms from LGBTQ discrimination here in U.S., it’s important to remember that re are still nearly 70 countries around world that have laws effectively criminalising LGBTQ status..." Tinder said in its blog post.

Tinder's rollout of 'Traveler Alert' will come into effect only when users open dating app in countries with discriminatory laws. This way, Tinder wants to ensure that users are aware of potential dangers LGBTQ community faces. Tinder has also advised users to take extra caution and refrain from unkwingly place mselves in danger "for simply being mselves."

As a result, LGBTQ community will t appear on Tinder by default when y open app in countries with discriminatory laws. Tinder will alert users accordingly, and when that happens, users can decide wher y want ir profile hidden or visible.

However, alert will appear for users only when y use Tinder in those countries. It will also appear for those using Tinder’s Passport feature that allows users to connect and match with people anywhere in world.
