PMSC – aka PUBG Mobile Star Challenge 2019 – aka PMSC 2019 resulted in Team SouL (SOUL) and TeamIND finishing thirteenth and sixteenth respectively. The total points, after day 2 of the PMSC 2019 finals, was 63 and 44 respectively. Number of kills accumulated by both the teams were 10 and 13. These are dismal numbers as the Indian contingent was expected to come out tops even outclassing the likes of Chinese and local Taiwanese PUBG eSports teams. But there is no need for disheartenment for Indian eSports and PUBG loyalists.

Indian gamers take rapid strides

This is because, both the teams actually posed tough competition to Chinese and Taiwanese teams (other teams as well). They were impressive on day 1, though. Individual content creator Kronten truly rocked the PMSC 2019 with his skills and we think that he was deserving of walking away with the coveted Player of the Tournament award. Now, this is big in the world of professional gaming where it is undeniably true that gamers in other countries viz the United States of America (USA), China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia have been into professional gaming and participation in major league events from a considerably long time. Our own Indian gamers have done well to pose tough combats here.

Future potentially looks good

Another important development has been the fact that India’s own Dynamo Gaming, the RawKnee Games, and Gareeboo lead in the individual votes’ category, along with Kronten.  This trend is the second in a row, after the recently concluded PUBG Mobil Club Open 2019 (PMCO 2019) which saw Team SOUL’s IG Mortal being adjudged PMCO website fan favourite player of the tournament. These are definite positives in a relatively emerging eSports community (and domain) in India. We think that these are definite stepping stones for our gamers to bring home important eSports trophies. As of now, the PUBG Mobile India tour is currently in progress and promises the winning eSports teams national-level exposure as well as a prize money of Rs 1.5 crores. Grand finale of this tournament takes place on 20 October.
