Prasar Bharti launches its OTT platform Waves: Check its subscription plans, content details

India's public broadcaster, Prasar Bharti, launched its over-the-top (OTT) platform, Waves, in India today. will offer content, in over 12 Indian languages.

India's public broadcaster, Prasar Bharti, launched its over-the-top (OTT) platform, Waves, in India today. The platform will offer content, which includes TV shows, documentaries, regional content and movies in over 12 Indian languages, which includes Hindi, English, Bengali, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Assamese.

As per the details shared by Prasar Bharti, the content available on Waves will be spread across 10 genres of infotainment and it will include old classic shows such as Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktimaan, and Hum Log to name a few. Prasar Bharti says that its OTT platform, Waves, will also provide video on demand, free-to-play gaming, radio streaming, live TV streaming, 65 live channels, several in-app integrations for video and gaming content, and online shopping through Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) supported e-commerce platform.

Additionally, Waves will also offers its platform to content creators such as National Creator Awardees like Kamiya Jani, RJ Raunac, and Shraddha Sharma to name a few and live stream events such as Prabhu Shriram Lalla Aarti live from Ayodhya and the monthly Mann ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As far as availability is concerned, Prasar Bharti's Waves is available to both Android users via Google Play Store and iPhone and iPad users via Apple's App Store.

Prasar Bharti's Waves subscription plans

Prasar Bharti's Waves offers three subscription plans to the interested people. Here are all the details:

-- Platinum Plan: This plan costs Rs 999 a year and it offers Ultra HD streaming along with unlimited access to all content with support for up to four devices.

-- Diamond Plan: This plan costs Rs 350 a year and it offers access to limited content, which includes movies, radio and live TV in HD quality on up to two devices.

-- Gold Plan: This plan costs Rs 30 a month and it offers live TV and radio access in SD quality on a single device.
