India is currently in third phase of lockdown which is going to last till May 17, 2020. State and Central government have taken several initiatives to ease lo on shoulders of citizens who are quarantined in ir houses for so long. It was also necessary to take strict decisions to boost up falling ecomy of country. While doing so, government decided to give relaxations which allowed liquor shops to open again. Delhi Government launched QToken app and website to ensure social distancing and stop overcrowding at wine shops after Ministry of Home Affairs provided some relaxations in country. website is an e-token portal that helps citizens to buy a coupon online. This e-coupon will provide details about nearby liquor shop and users can go and buy alcohol using it. e-token website was launched on Thursday i.e May 7, 2020, and decision was taken to ensure people do t form huge queues at liquor stores and inste can apply for an e-token with a time slot at any nearby shop to buy alcohol.

Who can apply for e-token on Qtoken app and website?
Citizens above 21 years of are eligible for applying in this e-coupon portal. link for QToken Delhi website is https://www.qtoken.in/.However, site is currently down as many people browsed portal, all at once, but government will soon resolve issues, it has said. All users of this e-token portal will have to register in app and provide certain details such as name and phone numbers. e-coupon will be sent at registered mobile number at time of applying for token. Once user receives token, he/she will be allotted with a time slot and name of liquor shop where he/she can go and buy liquor using e-token. This will reduce overcrowding at wine shops.

According to reports, around 200 liquor shops got permission to sell alcohol across national capital. permission was given by state government on May 4, 2020. But, due to overcrowding, government h to close many liquor shops and allegedly only 50 wine shops are kept open in capital. This is why Delhi government sorted issues of overcrowding by introducing QToken Delhi app which can be downloed on Google Play store.
