Reliance Jio’s JioCinema applications is now integrated deeply with as many as 4000 South Indian movies. This integration follows yet another recent one which is the collaboration between SunNXT and JioCinema. The latest collaboration has now resulted in a record number of films being added to the JioCinema application.

Now, the latest initiative is for Jio SIM card users, also applicable to JioPhone users across India. The telco has stated that users could check out more than 4000 films in South Indian languages such as Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu featuring all leading actors. At this juncture, with the SUnNXT integration, users could also view a dedicated “SunNXT” section within the JioCinema application. With the latest addition of 4000 south movies, the streaming wars could also seemingly flare-up. At this point in time, the leading players in the streaming (OTT) segment are SunNXT, Zee5, Amazon Prime Video, and Hotstar.

In related Jio-updates, the telco's annual prepaid offering of Rs 1699 is still live. This offers 365 days validity, along with 1.5 GB data per day. However, even this recharge scheme requires users to resort to additional IUC recharges. These IUC-specific plans start from Rs 10 and offer additional data starting from 1GB. On its part, the Rs 10 IUC-specific recharge offers 124 free minutes of non-Jio calling.
