Uber could reportedly come out with a customized bus service solution for India on the lines of its Uber Bus that is now live as a pilot in certain parts of the world and works like its cab-hailing service – which is through the Uber application (app).

Now, as per a MoneyControl report that quotes Uber India and South Asia head Pradeep Parameswaran, Uber is said to be contemplating launching bus transit systems for India. Parameswaran also made mentions about the current role played by buses for the Indian transport-transit system.

Also, the timeline of finalizing the launch of Uber buses could be achieved in the next one year as potentially hinted by Parameswaran. He also hinted, to MoneyControl, that the product fit of a potential Uber Bus in India still required exploration at this point in time.

As far as Uber Bus is concerned, the Egyptian city Cairo was the first market to get the transit aggregator service. This system works on ride-share basis similar to the “ride pooling” aspects.
