Koo was formerly designated as an AatmaNirbhar App and was the winner of the AatmaNirbhar App Innovation Challenge. The Indian government hosted this event in August 2020. During his Mann Ki Baat speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also encouraged Indians to use the Koo App. You can follow anyone in India who interests you, just like you can on Twitter. Sadhguru, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, and a slew of other celebrities utilise the Koo app to express themselves on a daily basis. Koo, an Indian microblogging site that was also a part of the AatmaNirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge last year, took its time to gain traction, but it is currently garnering attention from a number of government-related groups and may be the finest Twitter replacement for India. Many government departments, including the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), have verified handles on the platform. Ministry of Electronics and IT, MyGov, Digital India, India Post, NIC, NIELIT, SAMEER, Common Services Center, UMANG app, Digi Locker, NIXI, STPI, CDAC, CMET, and many others are just a few examples.
