WhatsApp update: Meta-owned messaging app, WhatsApp, has rolled out a new feature to its platform that will enable users to keep a track of all of their important conversations easily. The company has announced a new feature called 'Custom Lists' that will let users, group all of their important chats, both group chats and individual chats, under one section.
According to the details shared by the company, users can have multiple custom lists, such as Work, Neighbours, Family and Friends, in order to keep a track of all the conversations and access them easily when required. Users can also create multiple Custom Lists to sort through the chats in the app.
"Similar to your ‘favorites’, you can add both groups and one-on-one chats to a list, and any list you create will appear in the filter bar," WhatsApp wrote in a blog post announcing the development.
It is worth noting that WhatsApp's new Custom Lists feature builds on top of the Chat Filters feature, which the company had announced earlier this year. For the unversed, the company had introduced three chat filters -- All, Unread and Groups -- earlier this year to help users sort through all of their chats. Now, with the roll out of the Custom Lists feature, the company has expanded this feature by giving users the ability to create lists wherein their can sort through all of their conversations more efficiently.
As far as availability is concerned, WhatsApp says that it has already started rolling out its Custom Lists feature to all its users and that it will be available generally within the coming weeks.
