X is changing how block feature works: Here's what's changing

Elon Musk-owned X is changing how the blocking feature works. Soon, blocked accounts will be able to see the posts of the person who has blocked them.

X Block feature: Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) has announced that it is changing way blocked feature works on platform. Up until now, blocking a user on X would not only prevent m from interacting with posts of person who blocked m, but it would also prevent m from seeing ir posts. But that is about to change soon. 

X, via post from its official Engineering handle, announced that soon blocked accounts will be able to see all posts from account that blocked m if ir profile is set to public. However, y will still not be able to engage with m on ir posts. “If your posts are set to public, accounts you have blocked will be able to view m, but y will not be able to engage (like, reply, repost, etc.),” company wrote in its post.

X believes that this move will help in increasing transparency on platform. "Today, block can be used by users to share and hide harmful or private information about those y’ve blocked. Users will be able to see if such behavior occurs with this update, allowing for greater transparency," company ded.

This feature has raised concerns among X users who believe that changes to Block feature will foster cyber-stalking on platform. Here are some of reactions on post:

Step 1: Tap profile in X app.

Step 2: Tap Settings and Privacy option.

Step 3: Tap Privacy and Safety option.

Step 4: Tap Audience and Tagging option.

Step 5: Tap toggle button next to Protect your posts and Protect your videos options.
