In a strange incident, social media has been abuzz with reports about a delivery partner apparently belonging to Zomato kidnapping a pet dog of a customer having ordered food from the online ordering-delivery platform. The Zomato delivery partner reportedly kidnapped the pet dog and has been refusing to return it since. The owner of the pet dog, took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the incident. This has been going viral.

Netizens in splits

Check out below the report by the owner of the pet dog – Vandana Shah who has complained about the Zomato delivery partner – Tushar. As per reports, he is said to have picked up the dog after delivering food, in Pune. Check out below tweets from Shah. Netizens have also been responding to Shah’s tweets.

Shah is said to have noticed the missing dog, and set-off on a frantic search. Apparently, after enquiries with neighbours, and food delivery guys, she is said to have stumbled upon Tushar taking away her pet dog (called Dottu), as per ANI. At this juncture, Zomato has also responded to Shah. The company asked the aggrieved user to share contact details for resolution of the issue. “Hi, Vandana! That's totally not acceptable. Please help us with your contact details or the order details via DM and someone from our team will reach out to you at the earliest.” Here, it is worth remembering that last year, the internet was flooded with a video depicting a Zomato delivery partner eating away ordered food. This led to Zomato introducing tamper-proof packages. Zomato had to deal with intense criticism, then, as well.  Of late, the online food ordering-delivery platform has been making its obsession with chai (tea) and has been recommending its addiction as well.
