Google's Gemini Live now supports over 40 languages

Google today announced that Gemini Live now supports more than 40 languages. Gemini Live is also getting support for conversations in two languages.

Gemini Live update: Google today announced that that it is rolling out support for over 40 languages and 10 distinct voices to its generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based chatbot, Gemini Live. This feature will be available on Android smartphones in coming weeks.

It is worth noting that announcement comes a day after company announced that Gemini Live now supports Hindi and that support for eight more Indian languages, including Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Kanna, Malayalam, Gujarati and Urdu, will be rolled out to gen-AI based chatbot soon.

Gemini Live supports two languages at same time

Google also announced that Gemini Live will now support up to two languages on same device. This means that Android device owners will be able to communicate with Gemini Live in any of two supported languages.

In a support page, Google elaborated that users can talk to Gemini Live in two of se languages: English, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese (Brazil) and Spanish (Latin America).

Furrmore, company wrote that to use Gemini Live in two languages, first language should be set to one of following languages -- German (Belgium), German (Germany), German (Switzerland), German (Austria), English (India), English (United Kingdom), English (United States), Spanish (Argentina), Spanish (Chile), Spanish (Colombia), Spanish (United States), Spanish (México), Spanish (Perú), French (Belgium), French (France), French (Switzerland), Portuguese (Brazil), and Hindi (India).

How to change Gemini Live's language in Google app:

Step 1: Downlo latest version of Google app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Open Google app.

Step 3: Tap your profile picture or initials on top.

Step 4: Tap Settings icon.

Step 5: Go to Google Assistant settings.

Step 6: Tap Languages option and select your preferred language.
