Facebook CEO threatened to pull UK investment during meeting with Matt Hancock: Report
Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg threatened the UK minister to pull investment out of the country and look for other options in the European region.

During a meeting with Britain's n-Secretary of State for Digital Matt Hancock, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly threatened to pull investment from United Kingdom. According to Sky News, in meeting which took place between Hancock and Zuckerberg in 2018, Facebook's founder threatened UK minister to pull investment out of country and look for or options in European region.

According to report, revelation has been made by Bureau of Investigative Journalism, who has obtained a document from meeting. report says that Zuckerberg described British government of being anti-tech and talked about investing in ar country in European region as a replacement for UK. 'Brief lesson' by Hancock
report also mentioned how Hancock gave a "brief lesson" to Zuckerberg after tech billionaire refused to attend a parliamentary hearing, without disclosing actual content of lesson. report suggested that Zuckerberg was worried about tone of regulation proposed by British government. report furr ted that Hancock told Facebook CEO that tone could shift from threatening regulation to being collaborative invative-friendly legislation.

United Kingdom is Facebook's second-largest engineering hub after United States and company claimed it created 1,000 new jobs in country in 2020 alone. Facebook on Tuesday, December 1 anunced that it will start new investments in United Kingdom, where it will pay publishers for content with launch of Facebook News in January 2021. UK will become second country to have that feature after it was launched in US earlier this year.
