Enterprises globally are undertaking digital initiatives to enhance customer experience and increasing productivity, and technical skills in greatest demand for carrying out se efforts include analytics, automation and artificial intelligence (AI), as per a study by IT major Infosys.

"Digital initiatives require people with sophisticated technical skills and ability to continually update those skills as cycles continue to shorten. five technical skills in greatest demand today are analytics (67 per cent of digital initiatives), user experience (67 per cent), automation (61 per cent), IT architecture (59 per cent) and AI (58 per cent)," it ded.
Interestingly, soft skills were rated to be just as important as technical ones. Those in greatest demand included teamwork (74 per cent of digital initiatives), leership (70 per cent), and communication (68 per cent). Learnability is most undervalued intangible skill, with lack of budget biggest tangible barrier to re-skilling workforce, it said.

"re is t just a talent war it's a famine. To succeed, companies must hire, develop, and retain talent better than ir competition," Infosys Chief Operating Officer Pravin Rao said.
He ded that as enterprises progress in ir digital journeys, winners will be those who utilise multiple hiring sources and re-skill workers in a culture of lifelong learning. report is based on responses from over 1,000 CXOs and or senior-level respondents from companies with revenue greater than USD 1 billion. se respondents represented multiple industries and were from Australia, China, France, Germany, India, UK, and US.

report identified four approaches that can help companies prepare mselves to dress talent needs of today and prepare for those of future. It suggested that companies cast a wider net for new hires, re-skill and re-deploy in-house talent, eng temporary workers and gig ecomy strategically, and align organisational structure to evolving business needs.
