Apple Rumoured To Launch Next-Gen iPad Mini, 10-inch iPad in 2019

Apple loyalists could witness a next-gen iPad Mini (7.9-inch); which saw a release nearly three years ago. There are rumours that Apple would also launch a 10-inch iPad in 2019.

With the new year 2019 already estimated by analysts to be an year to look forward to with respect to newer technological innovations, there could also be consumer product innovations such as a new iPad Mini and a new iPad. The former is also rumoured to be an improved iPad Mini whose 2015 iteration has been the latest till now.

As per a China Times report (translated), first quoted by MacRumors, Apple loyalists could witness a next-gen iPad Mini (7.9-inch); which saw a release nearly three years ago. The report also speculates about the slate entering production and development phase from December this year. Also, rumour mills are rife about the launch of a new 10-inch iPad which is touted to be the successor to the current-gen 9.7-inch slate – a 32GB edition of this device is currently priced at Rs 28000 on Flipkart.

Here, it is also worth noting that in case the above rumours turn out to be true; and if Apple does manage to squeeze out the iPad Mini next-gen variant early next year; then rumours speculating the elimination of iPad Mini range would be put to rest completely. As of now, the Cupertino-based company is yet to issue official updates regarding its speculated iPad Mini 5 and the 10-inch iPad slate.

At this juncture, it is worth understanding that being a premium device, the Apple 9.7-inch iPad offers key technical aspects such as:

  • 9.7-inch display having resolutions of 2048 x 1536 pixels
  • Apple iOS 10.3 operating system

  • 1.2 MP secondary snapper
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 32 GB and 128 GB fixed internal storage variants
  • LTE, HSPA, GAM, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0 connectivity options
  • Fixed Lithium-Ion battery.

In other Apple related developments, the Apple Watch 4 premium wearables are now receiving the Electrocardiogram (ECG) app that lets users detect Atrial Fibrillation relatively early. The app would come as part of the Apple WatchOS 5.1.2 update and users would be able to receive notifications on their irregular heartbeat patterns.
