Not only do companies like Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic and others have at least one over-the-top product to share, Apple is opening its services like AirPlay, iTunes and HomeKit to them. In a word, it’s crazy this year-round at CES 2019. Here are five top-picks in the smart TVs category that have made headlines at CES 2019:

The LG InstaView ThinQ is a smart fridge that helps users with their favourite recipes, and preferences. Users can issue voice commands for activities such as preheating.

TiVo, a digital video recorder (DVR) company, plans to launch apps for streaming devices like Roku, Fire TV and Apple TV sometime this year.

New TiVO apps will let users watch live or recorded video on multiple TVs without having to buy a separate TiVo Mini box. Report has it that these apps will be launched sometime in the second or third quarter this year.

TiVo previously launched a limited-period beta app for Fire TV. So we can safely assume that Vivo would announce Fire TV app sooner than expected.

Last year, TiVo announced the Bolt OTA offering recording capabilities to TiVo. As a result, it plugs into an over-the-air (OTA) TV antenna instead of a cable box.

These new apps should be good for those relying on streaming media boxes instead of traditional cable. Unlike Bolt OTA, these apps shouldn't cost users anything extra.

Following the announcement of rollable OLED TV, LG introduces LG 49WL95C, a 49-inch monitor featuring 32:9 ultrawide aspect ratio. It sports a Dual QHD display with 5,120 x 1,440 pixels resolution.

Other hardware features and tech specs include two built-in 10W stereo speakers with "Rich Bass." Super wide and high-res display of LG 49WL95C provides users with support for HDR 10. What's more, it has support for USB Type-C, in addition to a stand that lets users adjust its height.

LG is also showing off its latest UltraGear gaming monitors: LG's 27-inch 27GL850G and 37.5-inch 38GL950G. Both of them sports QHD (Quad HD) Nano IPS screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. They are also compatible with NVIDIA's G-SYNC adaptive sync technology.

At the time of writing this, we don't know much about with regards to price and availability details for any of these monitors. This is what LG's 49-inch ultrawide monitor looks like!

Hyundai takes the wraps off "Elevate," first of its kind Ultimate Mobility Vehicle (UMV) that sort of combines technology found in electric cars and robots to traverse terrain in the event of an earthquake.

Hyundai Elevate is currently a concept and it's based on a modular EV platform. Elevate is capable of switching out different bodies depending on situations.

Similar to Boston Dynamics robot dog, this robotic leg architecture of Hyundai Elevate features five degrees of freedom in addition to wheel hub propulsion motors.
 

Hyundai explains it can fold up into a stowed drive-mode after cutting power to the joints. What's more, opting for integrated passive suspension system increases battery efficiency.

SolarEdge’s electric vehicle (EV) charging system can now be controlled using Google Assistant. At CES, SolarEdge announced its partnership with Google over the integration of Google Assistant into their EV charging solar inverter.

PuduTech is showcasing their all-new Holabot delivery robots at the on-going tradeshow. Holabot is claimed to feature a more compact body in terms of comparison with competitors. It's also equipped with AI speech interaction and facial recognition features.

In what could be the future of food delivery, Holabot meal-delivery robots are being showcased at the on-going CES 2019. Holabot measures 547 x 407 x 673mm in dimensions, which it says is comparatively smaller and more compact than what its competitors offer.

Holabot seems to have what it takes to emerge as a human-robot interaction system. It uses AI speech interaction and facial recognition. Here is what the company has to explain:

"It may tell the direction of human faces with RGBD camera and elevate its screen to the height at which users feel comfortable to operate it; users can unlock its cabin with facial recognition. In addition, there are automated trays within the cabin that will elevate themselves for users to fetch. In short, Holabot optimises both user experience and delivery security."

Holabot can take elevators by itself. Its elevator control module and multi-floor navigation algorithm can help it navigate itself to the designated floor.

Flying cars may not be far from reality. Thanks to Bell’s hybrid-electric flying car, which is going to be available via Uber sometime in 2020. Bell Nexus air taxi is currently a concept. It uses six fans to take off and land. Bell joined hands with Uber back in 2017.

There will be a conference session called 'The Flying Car' at Day 2 of CES. It kicks off at 9 AM PST (10:30 PM IST). This is what the event description page has to say:

"Several companies are building flying cars for both commercial and leisure purposes. Where is this industry headed, which players are taking us there and what’s the vision for this near-future mode of transportation"

The list of speakers includes Wards Intelligence's Doug Newcomb, Italdesign's Massimo Martinotti and Spirent Communications' Jeff Warra.
