Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro which was launched in India on November 22, is now up for sale. The premium mid-range phone is also slated to face competition obviously in a crowded Indian market that is dominated by Chinese and South Korean brands along with the likes of Apple and a host of local labels following suit.
In this regard; new benchmark results indicate that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SOC, within the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, is seen ranking behind a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset incorporated within a handset bearing model number RMX1833 which refers to a Realme U1 that is expected to be launched in India during the last week of November 2018.

These benchmark results, first reported by Smartprix, indicate a benchmark run on AntTuTu app; on multiple recent mid-range phones viz Redmi Note 6 Pro, Realme UI, and a Huawei Honor 8X variant. The scores displayed by the images corn the Realme U1 the winner, with the Honor 8X being second. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is in the last place here.
Now, an inference which could potentially be made from these observations is the fact that the Helio P70 SoC could offer premium mid range performance; expected from a mid range handset. Expectations on the MediaTek Helio P70 would also obviously be on the rise.

At this juncture, the Realme U1 is rumoured to come with a sub INR 15000 price tag; just like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro; hence, the former could very well do to be a potential competitor for the Redmi Note 6 Pro as far as budget and performance of the phone are taken into consideration. As of now, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is a definite cynosure of all eyes in the mid-range smartphones segment in India that has been getting a boost from at least the last 5 years; thanks to intense competition between Xiaomi and Samsung.
For Realme, the fairly new smartphone brand has a backing of budget devices viz the Realme C1 priced at INR 7999, the Realme 1 (having a price tag starting from INR 11000), and Realme 2 (INR 9500). Here, these handsets have definitely emphasized the value-for-money aspect when matching with price is taken into consideration. This does not help but evoke the same kind of feelings that Xiaomi did back in 2014 when its budget offerings viz the first-gen Redmi smartphones surfaced; USP of these devices were their feature-rich nature at comparatively affordable prices (in the features vs money comparisons).
