“ center’s mandate requires interaction with industry and or universities, including international student and faculty exchanges. objective is to vance scientific invation for societal benefit,” stated Prof, Bhaskar Ramamurthi who is Director at IIT-Mras.
Applied research would begin in four verticals: manufacturing analytics, financial analytics, smart cities, systems biology, and health care. Several techlogies currently require large datasets to improve ir accuracy and to apt se techlogies for Indian context.
Identifying basic issues in way data is collected and shared; warranting a collective, open-source mechanism, Prof. B. Ravindran, he of RBC-DSAI, said, “ center, in dition to fundamental research, is setting out on an ambitious task of creating a portal of curated, India specific data sets that are easy to access and interpret through a set of open tools and interfaces.”
