Google announces new features for Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8 series, more: Top features

Pixel smartphones get new features: Google today announced new features that will soon be coming to its Pixel smartphones. list includes features such as Audio Magic Eraser, support for underwater photography and improvements to Astrophotography to name a few. se features are a part of Google's October Pixel Drop and will be available exclusively on its devices.

It is worth noting that announcement comes shortly after company officially announced much-awaited Android 15 mobile operating system. company's Pixel smartphones will not only get features available as a part of October Pixel Drop but also as a part of Android 15.

Here are all new features coming to Google's Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8 series and older Pixel models:

Audio Magic Eraser

Google introduced Magic Eraser feature for images in 2023. This year, company updated Magic Eraser by introducing a similar version for audio. Google says that Audio Magic Eraser brings new editing tools that will enable users to reduce distracting sounds in a video. Users can turn specific sounds up or down. y can also separate voices to independently change ir volumes.

This feature is available on Pixel 8 series and Pixel 9 series smartphones.

Support for underwater photography

Google today announced that now Pixel smartphone users can now use any waterproof case to capture under--sea moments owing to improved underwater photography and video recording. This feature will be available on Pixel 9 series smartphone only.

Improved Astrophotography

Google has also me improvements to astrophotography feature, which is available as a part of night sight. "Just tap Night Sight icon, slide to Astro, and press shutter button. You'll have 5 seconds to set phone down facing sky, and n you'll be capturing beautiful pictures of night sky," Google explained in its blog.

This feature will be available in Pixel 6 series and all newer Pixel smartphone models.

Updated rmometer app

Google has also updated its rmometer app. updated app uses camera to get live temperature reings of various surfaces and save results to reference m later. This feature is available in Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 9 series smartphones.

Updated Pixel Wear app

Google is rolling out a pollen tracker in Pixel Wear app. This feature will enable users to check current pollen index levels, pollen s and forecasts before stepping outside. However, this feature is not available in India yet.
