Huawei Mate XT launch: Huawei today launched the Huawei Mate XT smartphone in China. This new smartphone comes with a tri-folding design, which makes the first smartphone in the world to feature a three-way folding design.

Interestingly, the Huawei Mate XT launch comes just hours after Apple launched the Apple Intelligence powered iPhone 16 series smartphones. Furthermore, the Huawei Mate XT is set on sale in China the same day Apple's iPhone 16 series will be available for purchase globally, that is, September 20.

The Huawei Mate XT starts at 19,999 Yuan (Rs 2,35,897 approximately) for the variant with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. On the other hand, the top variant of the phone with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space is priced at 23,999 Yuan (Rs 2,83,078 approximately)

As far as the design is concerned, the Huawei Mate XT has two hinges as opposed to the single hinge in the clam-shell style and notebook style foldable phones available in the market right now. While one of hinges folds inwards, the other folds outwards forming a Z-shape. The phone is 12.8mm thick when folded completely and it features a metallic chassis with leather back.

Coming to the specifications, the Huawei Mate XT has a 10.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 × 3184 pixels when unfolded completely. With a single fold, the phone has a 7.9-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 × 2048 pixels. When completely unfolded, the phone has a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2232 × 1008 pixels.

The Huawei Mate XT runs HarmonyOS 4.2 and it has 16GB of RAM that is coupled with up to 1TB of storage space.

On the camera front, the Huawei Mate XT has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with OIS support, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens. On the Huawei Mate XT has an 8MP camera.

The Huawei Mate XT is backed by a 5600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Additional features include Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type-C charging feature, GPS and NavIC to name a few.
