iPhone 16 pre-orders went live last Friday in India for the original price of Rs 79,900, similar to last year’s iPhone 15 price. While Apple Store buyers can get cashback on their purchase to bring the cost down to Rs 74,900, an offer claiming the lowest effective price of Rs 66,600 for the iPhone 16 has come up. HDFC ’s online marketplace SmartBuy has announced discounts and benefits of more than Rs 13,000 on the iPhone 16, slated to go on sale on September 20.
The SmartBuy website has put up banners, showing the effective price of the iPhone 16 will be Rs 66,600. However, there are terms and conditions attached to the offer. The discounts of Rs 13,300 will be available only to HDFC Infinia credit card users on SmartBuy. The cardholders will receive 1 RP (reward point) for every Rs 150 spent and 5x reward points, both of which amount to Rs 13,300. However, this amount will not be credited as cashback. Instead, Infinia cardholders can redeem the reward points to book flight tickets and hotels, among others.
The iPhone 16 buyers will receive discounts and benefits of Rs 14,975 on using an HDFC Infinia credit card. According to the website, the Plus model will be available for an effective price of Rs 74,925, down from the original price of Rs 89,900. Customers should note that the discounts and benefits will be redeemable as reward points against flight and hotel bookings.
