Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus may not go back to using Qualcomm or even Exynos as company could opt for MediaTek’s flagship chips. A new report has claimed that standard and Plus models in Samsung’s next year’s flagship phones will rock Dimensity 9400 chipsets, offering significant performance and efficiency improvements over Exynos chipsets.
speculation that Samsung may be inclined towards MediaTek chipsets for next Galaxy S series phones comes from Google, which published a statement on September 26 to highlight how its DeepMind technology is helping chipmakers to offer better performance and productivity on a range of devices.

statement res: External organisations are also opting and building AlphaChip. For example, MediaTek, one of top chip design companies in world, extended AlphaChip to accelerate development of ir most vanced chips – like Dimensity Flagship 5G used in Samsung mobile phones – while improving power, performance, and chip area.
That chunk indicates that MediaTek’s next flagship processor is coming to Samsung and will rightly be used on company’s flagship phones. Samsung has never used a top-end MediaTek processor on a phone previously, although its Galaxy Tab S10 series tablets are based on Dimensity 9300+ SoC. And if DeepMind’s statement holds any water, Dimensity 9400 will replace Exynos, which replaced Snapdragon last year. That means better performance, efficiency, and support for AI tools as Galaxy S24 users have complained about inconsistent performance of Samsung’s in-house processor.

But MediaTek chipsets will likely be available on Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, on or hand, could come with upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, much like its predecessor. Samsung launched Galaxy S24 Ultra in January with Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while rest two phones in series came with Exynos processors.
