Samsung will launch the Galaxy Fold in India, DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & mobile communications division, Samsung Electronics said while speaking to select media (via Gadgets 360) on the sidelines of Galaxy S10 launch. Although a tentative timeline has not been revealed, Samsung could launch the Galaxy Fold in India around the same time it launches the product in global markets - the Galaxy Fold will be available for buying in select markets from April 26.
"Indian market is, I clearly said, most important market - not only investment and everything, my long-term commitment is towards the market. In this market, why will I not deliver my newest technology innovation? Yes, I will do," Koh was quoted as saying.

Much like its other high-end Galaxy phones, Samsung could make the Galaxy Fold in India to keep the costs down – but it seems initially the Galaxy Fold will be imported. Which means, Samsung will invariably charge a hefty premium for the Galaxy Fold as and when it launches it in India – the Galaxy Fold will be available in select markets at a whopping $1,980 which roughly translates to Rs 1,38,984.
The Galaxy Fold was launched at Unpacked 2019 in late-February alongside the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10E and Galaxy S10 5G. It belongs to the first wave of next-generation foldable devices that will give users access to two categories of devices - a 7.3-inch primary tablet kind and a smaller 4.6-inch phone form factor – all in one device. All this is made possible through Samsung’s signature curved OLED or Infinity Flex.

Key hardware specs of the Galaxy Fold include: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and a total of six cameras. The Galaxy Fold further packs two batteries which entail in a total battery capacity of 4,380mAh.
Samsung could also launch the Galaxy S10 5G in India "when the market is ready."
