The Mi LED smart bulb is officially out of crowdfunding in India, which means buyers can now buy it from across Xiaomi’s Mi.com/in store, Amazon and Flipkart. The Xiaomi Mi LED smart bulb is now available for buying in India at a price of Rs 1,299.

Xiaomi had launched the Mi LED smart bulb in India in April under its crowdfunding platform. As the names suggests, crowdfunding is largely meant to gauge buyer interest. The future of the product therefore lies in the hands of the buyers. If enough buyers show interest, Xiaomi will go ahead and make the product available. Which is what has happened with the Mi LED smart bulb.

The Mi LED smart bulb had gone live on Xiaomi’s crowdfunding platform on April 26 – Xiaomi had not announced pricing back then.

The Mi LED smart bulb works with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa and can also be controlled though Xiaomi’s Mi Home app. It does not require any connecting bridge and promises 11 years of lifespan. Xiaomi claims its 10W Mi LED smart bulb can switch between 16 million colours and supports an adjustable temperature range from 1700K to 6500K.

Xiaomi has been slowly and steadily ramping up its portfolio of ecosystem products in India. Xiaomi sells a broad range of hardware developed either in-house or in partnership with its ecosystem partners – it says it is investing in and managing an ecosystem of over 210 companies, with over 90 of these companies focusing on the development of smart hardware and lifestyle products.

Xiaomi has also recently launched the ShareSave app in India that “aims to offer users outside of Chinese mainland a convenient and cost-effective way to purchase ecosystem products that have only been available within Chinese mainland.” In simple terms, it lets you easily buy its China-exclusive ecosystem products in India at “honest pricing.”
