Android 10 has been released officially by Google, as expected. It seems like the first batch to receive Google's latest Android update includes the entire Pixel line-up. It hardly comes as a surprise since Google phones have always been the first ones to receive all the official Android updates and security patches. There were reports that Google is likely to release Android 10 to all the Pixel phone users out there starting September 3. The update includes certain new features and improvements. Android 10 software update brings the most-awaited Dark Mode feature. Additionally, it also brings gestural navigation, more privacy controls and quick actions as well as replies directly through notifications.

As Google has always maintained in its talks, speeches and promos, Android 10 software update is mainly about your privacy and productivity cont. Some of the major highlights of Android 10 includes Focus mode, Dark theme, Gesture navigation, privacy controls, location controls, sound amplifier, among others. This update is also supposed to bring changes to certain departments. For example, accessibility, camera, performance, security and privacy are some of the focus areas for Android 10. For now, Android 10 is available only for the Pixel lineup and eventually, it will be rolled out to phones from other brands.

"Android 10 begins rolling out to Pixel phones today, and we’re working with our partners to launch and upgrade devices to Android 10 this year," said Dave Burke, VP of Engineering at Google.

How to update your phone to Android 10

If you happen to be a Google Pixel user, Android 10 should have been available for you to download and install. In case you haven't received the notification about its availability, you can check for the update manually. All you have to do is navigate to your phone's Settings manually. For Pixel users, go to Settings > System > Advanced > System update. Now, tap 'Check for update.' If your phone has indeed received Android 10 update, you should see a changelog available. The update is about 1200MB in size. While installing the update, ensure that your phone has a sufficient charge and disable the battery-saving update.
