BSNL is now again trending on micro-blogging site Twitter. Now, the latest hashtag is “IndiaNeedBSNL”. This comes after there were two other recent trending hashtags viz “Switch to BSNL” and “BSNL 4G”. Twitterati has been expressing desires to check out the official rollout of BSNL 4G, and do not want to witness a shutdown of the government-led telco.

Now, as far as the newest “IndiaNeedBSNL” trend is concerned, netizens have been praising the telco for offering uninterrupted network coverage even in rural areas of India. A section of netizens is also expressing sympathies with BSNL. Hence, now BSNL revival has been a resultant f this continuous traction from both netizens as well as general BSNL users (even they have expressed concerns on various physical forums).

At this juncture, the hot topic of discussion in the Indian telecom circle has been the Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) which Reliance Jio has already started levying on customers. This tariff, for the uninitiated, is 6 paise per minute, as per TRAI directives. BSL, so far has not imposed IUC on customers. Now, this IUC is for customers making voice calls to networks of other operators. The charges that is paid by the onward operator to the recipient operator is IUC. Hence, the latest trend on BSNL on Twitter could even have been result of IUC levy. Check out certain reactions below, in this regard:

Finally, BSNL's Rs 1699 annual plan now comes with extended validity for select consumers (prepaid) in select circles. The new validity is 455 days. In case you have received messages from the telco, do let us know. At this point in time, BSNL's 4G services are set to become a full-fledged reality soon.
