BSNL’s 4G services are now hugely anticipated. This is because the state-led telecom operator recently received a revival package from the central government. Now, there are reports on the web that state that BSNL would launch full-fledged 4G telecoms services before the second half of 2020.
BSNL 4G “under test”
Now, the telco has been testing 4G at various places in India. This includes tests in Kerala as well. The telco was also said to be testing the next-gen wireless technology in various other places as well. Hence, it is realistically possible that BSNL would launch 4G services at the earliest. Another reason why the telco could come up with 4G services soon is the fact that it has been handing out 4G SIM cards not only for new customers but also for port-in subscribers. Hence, at least to do justice to the new subscribers, the state-led telco could launch full-fledged services soon of the next-gen communications network.

Also, the revival package includes allocation of 4G spectrum. This means that BSNL now needs to only effectively deploy 4G over the spectrum and make it accessible to its subscribers. This could take some time, whilst not amounting to a delay. Hence, we could witness the rollout of BSNL 4G services very shortly.
In related news, BSNL’s Rs 1699 plan is now seeding with validity of 425 days. This prepaid tariff plan is active in almost all circles.
