BSNL has a Rs 1199 “family plan” offering 3 SIM cards with bundled 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls, a fixed telephone with unlimited calling and a landline broadband connection offering data at a speed of 10Mbps of 30GB data in a month. This plan costs Rs 1199 and is valid for one billing month.

At this juncture, it is worth remembering that Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio announced its much-hyped Jio Fiber broadband offering that begins rollout from 5 September across India. With BSNL having come out with the Rs 1199 plan, the competition in the broadband sector has now seemingly intensified.

The 3 SIM cards offered by the above plan also seem worth considering the fact that it caters to an entire small family. Another plus for BSNL at this stage is the fact that the Rs 1199 family plan is currently operational across all 27 circles of India where the state-led telco has a presence.

At this juncture, it is worth remembering that BSNL’S 4G service is yet to take off on a large-scale.

As far as Jio Fiber is concerned, the service begins rollout on 5 September across Indian homes; check out hilarious reactions that the service’s official announcement on 12 August generated.  here to check out.
