Flipkart launches its own TV streaming device, to compete with Amazon

Flipkart is latest to launch a new TV streaming device in the country. Flipkart launched MarQ Turbostream streaming device to compete with Amazon Fire TV stick.

India's TV streaming consumer electronics market is fairly crowded with some of the major players like Amazon Fire TV stick and Google Chromecast driving the sale. Now, Flipkart is the latest company to launch a new TV streaming device in the country. Walmart-owned Flipkart has announced a whole new addition to its in-house consumer electronics brand MarQ. The new product is called Turbostream Media Streaming Device. Flipkart's own TV streaming dongle will compete directly with Amazon's Fire TV Stick. Flipkart MarQ Turbostream price in India, deals and offers

This streaming device is listed on Flipkart at a special, discounted price of Rs 3,499. Some of the available bank offers include 5 per cent cashback on Flipkart Axis Bank credit card and 10 per cent discount with Axis Bank Buzz credit card. No-cost EMI plans start at Rs 292 per month. Flipkart will start shipping the Turbostream media streaming device by November 11.

Some of the main highlights of Flipkart MarQ Turbostream, it claims to provide users with access to more than 10,000 apps with Android TV Play Store. It runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It also delivers built-in support for Chromecast. Of course, it is powered by Google Assistant so that you can control your TV with voice commands. It has dual-band Wi-Fi support.

As we can see from the pictures, the device itself contains MarQ branding. The remote features dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, YouTube and Netflix. The device supports other online streaming platforms like Hotstar, Hungama Play, Voot, ALTBalaji, ZEE5, Eros Now, Sony LIV, Spotify, among others.

"Through this latest offering, we are once again bringing to the Indian market a product of unmatched quality, crafted to meet the needs of our consumers," he added.
