Google Pixel 4: Everything we know ahead of the official launch today

Google Pixel hardware launch is happening today in New York City where the company is expected to unveil its latest hardware line-up, including a couple of new Pixel smartphones, a new Pixelbook Chromebook, a pair of new wireless headphones and some new connected Nest home devices. While we have already covered everything that Google is expected to announce today, its upcoming Pixel 4 line-up is will likely be the main focus. Ahead of the official unveiling, here is everything we have heard about Pixel 4 so far.

Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL

Like every year, chances are Google will announce Pixel 4 alongside its larger sibling the Pixel 4 XL. The majority of differences between the two are expected in terms of screen sizes and battery capacity. Everything else is expected to remain more or less the same. We compile the list of everything we know about Pixel 4 line-up so far:

-- Square camera module: According to leaked pictures, Google Pixel 4 will feature a dual rear camera setup into a square camera unit, similar to Apple iPhone 11.

-- New face unlock: Some of the expected features on Google Pixel 4, face unlock tech that might go up against Apple’s Face ID

-- Motion-sensing radar: Google has long been working on a new motion-sensing radar that will let users perform certain tasks by hand gestures.

-- 90Hz display: Google Pixel 4 is said to feature a display with 90Hz refresh rate support, similar to OnePlus 7T, 7T Pro. Meaning, your interactions with the screen will be a lot smoother.

-- Colour options: The Google Pixel 4 is expected in a total of three colours -- Just Black, Clearly White, and Oh So Orange.

-- 5G variant: Google is also said to be readying a 5G variant of Pixel 4, according to the report. More details awaited on that front, though.

-- New audio recorder: Google Pixel 4 will have an audio recorder that can automatically transcribe recordings, leaks suggests.

-- Faster Assistant: New Google Assistant is expected, which could deliver results up to 10-times faster.

Google Pixel 4, 4XL specs (Expected)

Google Pixel 4 could feature a 5.7-inch 1080+ OLED screen while the Pixel 4 XL is tipped to sport a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ OLED display. Powering these two phones could be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. More storage and memory variants can be expected during the event.

In terms of optics, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL might house a 16MP + 12MP dual cameras with 4K support. Both the devices are expected to feature an 8MP selfie cameras.
