Huawei Mate X foldable relaunched, will ship starting November 15 

Huawei has now announced that it will start selling the Mate X in China from November 15 at a price of CNY 16,999 which roughly translates to Rs 1,70,600.

Huawei has relaunched Mate X foldable – in China. much-delayed Huawei Mate X was supposed to land in October (internationally), after having missed its initial target of making its way to market by middle of year – in aftermath of US tre clampdown. Huawei has w anunced that it will start selling Mate X in China from vember 15 at a price of CNY 16,999 which roughly translates to Rs 1,70,600.  

Huawei h previously confirmed that it will launch Mate X foldable phone in India in second half of this year – it would be interesting to see if that plan stays put. In China, Mate X is launching minus Google services, and chances are something similar will happen in India also should Huawei bring foldable to India. re’s also word if and when Huawei will bring Mate X to global markets.

Mate X was first anunced at MWC 2019 and belongs to  first wave of next-generation foldable devices. It’s Huawei’s answer to Samsung Galaxy Fold which is alrey available for buying in India.  

way Mate X approaches foldable route is different from Samsung though. Mate X’s OLED display folds outwards giving users access to three screen sizes – two independent smartphone-like screens with 6.6-inch and 6.38-inch sizes respectively, and an 8-inch tablet form factor. Huawei calls it a falcon wing design.

In terms of core hardware, Mate X packs Huawei’s Kirin 980 flagship processor. It was speculated that Huawei may tweak internals and relaunch Mate X with its new Kirin 990 processor, but that isn’t case. Mate X comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB stor, it comes with a total of three Leica-tuned cameras, dual-SIM, and it packs two batteries which entail in a total battery capacity of 4,500mAh with 55W Super Charging which is claimed to offer 85 per cent charge in mere 30 minutes. Mate X is also 5G-rey courtesy Huawei’s Balong 5000 modem.
